Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use Granite Logistics to arrange a shipment. They are written to be read rather than skipped.
Who you are contracting with
Granite Logistics LLC, Dayton, Ohio. Contact: ken@usegl.com.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has it. We may suspend an account that is being used to place fraudulent orders or to interfere with the service.
To keep the service usable for everyone, order creation is rate limited per account. If you need to ship in volume, get in touch and we will arrange it properly rather than have you fight the limit.
Placing an order
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you give us: the delivery address, the contact details, and an honest description of what is in the parcel. A wrong address is the most common cause of a failed delivery, and we cannot fix one after collection.
You may cancel an order yourself at any point before we collect it, from the Orders tab. Once a parcel is in our custody it is moving through a physical network and can no longer be cancelled in the app; contact us instead.
What you must not ship
Anything illegal, and anything a carrier will not accept: hazardous or explosive materials, firearms and ammunition, live animals, perishable goods, cash and bearer instruments, illegal drugs, or items you do not have the right to send. If you ship a prohibited item you are responsible for the consequences, including any fine, disposal cost or damage it causes.
Delivery estimates
Dates shown in the app are estimates, not guarantees. Weather, carrier capacity and access at the destination all affect a delivery, and we will tell you when something changes rather than quietly let a date slip.
Loss and damage
We photograph parcels at handover so that a dispute over condition can be settled with evidence rather than opinion. If a parcel is lost or damaged in our custody, contact us with the tracking number and we will investigate. Any compensation is limited to the declared value you gave us when placing the order, so declare it accurately.
We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit or missed opportunity, arising from a late or failed delivery.
Availability
We aim to keep the service up but do not promise uninterrupted availability. The app keeps working offline for viewing your orders, and an order you place offline is held and sent once you are back online.
Ending this agreement
You can close your account at any time from Account → Your data, subject to any shipment already on its way being delivered first. We may end the agreement if these terms are breached. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States.
These terms describe how the service actually works today. They are a starting point, not legal advice, and they have not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have someone qualified review them before you rely on them commercially, particularly the loss, liability and governing-law sections.
